+ Is FIJI Water from Fiji?
One hundred percent of FIJI Water is bottled at Viti Levu in the pristine, tropical Fiji Islands, an archipelago of over 300 islands nestled in the South Pacific, more than 1,600 miles from the nearest industrialised country.
-
+ WHAT MAKES FIJI WATER DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WATERS?
FIJI Water is different because of its extraordinary source – a protected artesian aquifer found deep underground in the remote Fiji Islands. The unique mineral profile, which contributes to FIJI Water’s signature soft, smooth taste, reflects that FIJI WATER is sourced from an artesian aquifer and untouched until you unscrew the cap.
-
+ DOES FIJI WATER MEET BOTTLED WATER REGULATIONS FOR WATER QUALITY?
Yes, FIJI Water conforms to all of the FDA’s requirements. To read more about our water quality testing and results, download our California Water Quality Report (PDF).
-
+ WHAT TYPES OF MINERALS DOES FIJI WATER CONTAIN?
FIJI Water is natural artesian water that has the minerals silica, magnesium, and calcium. Silica is what gives FIJI Water its soft mouth-feel. While calcium and magnesium are essential minerals, high levels of these minerals can give water the distinction of being "hard" as opposed to "soft".

-
+ What kind of plastic does FIJI Water use to make their bottles?
FIJI Water began offering its best-selling 500 mL and 330 mL bottles made from 100% recycled plastic, bottle only, in Spring 2023. All bottles in FIJI Water’s line are made from high-grade PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic and are designated with the #1 code at the bottom of the bottle for recycling purposes. The FDA approves PET as safe for contact with food and beverages. PET is also fully recyclable and can be transformed into a number of products such as food and beverage packages, apparel, carpet, automotive parts, and construction materials. Please check with your local municipality to see if PET is recyclable in your area. You can also search for local recycling centers and services at http://earth911.com

+ DOES FIJI WATER'S PACKAGING CONTAIN BISPHENOL A (BPA)?
No, FIJI Water packaging is not made with Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical intermediate used to make plastics and resin. FIJI Water bottles have never contained BPA.
-
+ DOES FIJI WATER COME IN GLASS BOTTLES?
FIJI Water does not come in glass bottles. We bottle our water exclusively in high-grade PET bottles and rPET bottles (bottle only), as that is the optimal packaging that protects the quality of our water (against oxygen migration and carbon dioxide which can effect taste), ensures product safety (no breakage), and minimises environmental impact (lightweight, lower emission during transport and less waste).
-
+ WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE FOR FIJI WATER?
FIJI Water is best if consumed within two years. The “best by” date can be found on the back of each FIJI Water bottle, beneath the label.

+ WILL FIJI WATER OFFER OTHER SIZES IN rPET AND DOES FIJI WATER HAVE PLANS TO TRANSFER THE REST OF ITS LINEUP TO rPET?
As a first step in our transition to recycled plastic, we wanted to make the most meaningful impact. In starting with our best-selling 500 mL and 330 mL bottles, we are transitioning nearly 70% of FIJI Water’s bottle volume to recycled plastic worldwide.*
*Projected total bottle volume per 2023 sales forecast. Bottle only.
-
+ WHAT IS rPET AND WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGULAR PLASTIC BOTTLE?
The recycled plastic most commonly used for beverage containers is officially known as rPET, which stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate. When plastic containers are used by consumers and then recycled, the bottles are broken down and reconstructed into new rPET bottles. The transition to 100% recycled plastic (rPET) bottles, bottle only, means that no new plastic is being created and put into circulation with these bottles. Customers shouldn’t notice a difference, delivering the same great taste, look and quality that people come to expect from FIJI Water.
-
+ ARE FIJI WATER rPET BOTTLES RECYCLABLE?
Yes, FIJI Water’s recycled plastic bottles are made from recycled material and can be recycled again. Please check with your local council to see if rPET is recyclable in your area. We encourage everyone to always recycle, allowing us to continue the recyclability loop for years to come.
-
+ IS IT SAFE TO CONSUME WATER FROM 100% rPET BOTTLES?
Yes, just like the PET used in our other bottles, rPET bottles are safe for food and beverage packaging. The recycled material undergoes rigorous cleaning and testing before it is brought to market.
-
+ WILL rPET MATERIAL IMPACT THE QUALITY AND TASTE OF OF FIJI WATER?
No, the rPET bottle does not affect the quality and taste of FIJI Water. FIJI Water still has the same smooth taste in a more sustainable bottle.
